19 Feb 1630: Shivaji Maharaj born on Shivneri Fort near Pune and his mother Jijabai named him Shivaji in honour of the goddess Shivai, deity of the fort. (Shivaji Maharaj’s birth date has been a matter of controversy but recently a consensus has been reached and is deemed to be 19 February 1627 Other suggested dates include 6 April 1627).

1640: Shivaji got married to Saibai Nimbalkar. She was Mudhojirao Naik Nimbalkar’s second daughter and sister of Bajaji Rao Naik Nimbalkar of Phaltan. Saibai was Shivaji’s first and most favourite wife.

1646: Shivaji & his friends from Maval took oath of independence in the temple of Rohideshwar. At a young age of 16 he conquered the forts of Torna. Torna fort is the first fort that Shivaji captured.

1648: Conquered Fort kondhana near Pune.

1648: Fort Purandar conquered by Shivaji & Raghunath Ballal.

15 Jan 1656: Shivaji captured Javli from Chandrarao More.

06 Apr 1656: Shivaji captured Raigad.

14 May 1657: Birth of Sambhaji Maharaj (Saibai and shivaji’s eldest son).

24 Oct 1657: Shivaji conquered Mughal dominated places Kalyan & Bhivandi.

08 Jan 1658: Shivaji took fort Mahuli.

21 Jul 1658: Aurangzeb declared himself as New emperor of Mughal kingdom.

05 Sep 1659: Shivaji’s first wife Saibai passed away on fort Rajgad.

1659: Afzal Khan of Bijapur was killed by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

09 May 1660: Shaiste Khan occupied Shivaji’s Lal Mahal & started staying there.

03 Feb 1661: Shivaji defeated Mughal officer Kartalab Khan.

05 Apr 1663: Shivaji attacked Shaiste Khan.

06 Jan 1664: Shivaji looted prosperous trade center of Aurangzeb at Surat.

23 Jan 1664: Shahji Raje Bhosle, Shivaji’s father passed away.

30 Jul 1664: Shivaji raided Ahemadnagar.

24 Nov 1664: Construction of Sindhudurg on small iseland called ‘Kurte’ near Malvan completed.

03 Mar 1665: Mirzaraja Jaisingh enters Pune.

30 Mar 1665: Dilerkhan begins siege of Purandhar.

14 Apr 1665: Rudramal fort captured by Diler Khan.

13 Jun 1665: Treaty of Purandhar.

30 Sep 1665: Shivaji accepts Aurangzeb’s farmaan in Jai singh’s camp.

05 Mar 1666: Shivaji starts for Agra to meet Aurangzeb.

12 May 1666: Shivaji visits Aurangzeb’s court.

19 Aug 1666: Shivaji escapes from Agra.

28 Aug 1667: Jaisingh dies at Burhanpur.

15 Feb 1670: Tanaji captures Kondhana from Mughal.

24 Feb 1670: Shivaji’s second wife Soyarabai gave birth to Rajaram, Shivaji’s second son.

15 Mar 1670: Kalyan captured by Shivaji maharaj.

24 Mar 1670: Shivaji Maharaj re-captures Purandar.

13 May 1670: Lohgad captured.

16 Jun 1670: Mahuli fort captured.

24 Jun 1670: Rohida fort captured.

17 Oct 1670: Battle of Dindori.

25 Oct 1670: Moropant captures Trimbak.

03 Oct 1670: Second sack of surat starts.

05 Jan 1671: Shivaji maharaj captured fort Salher Fort near Nashik.

21 Apr 1672: Abdullah Qutb Shah Dies.

1674: Shivaji crowned himself at Raighad and assumed the title of Maharaja Chhatrapati.

1676: Shivaji’s last campaign against Jijapuri Karnataka. Captured Jinji and Vellore.

1680: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj died.
